Water play

A while back I bought some sea shells to add to my small collection. I decided to add them to a bin with warm water, fake plants for a fish tank and blue glass stones.

As soon as Chloe saw it, she was very excited. But she wouldn’t put her hands in at first.

After a bit of coaxing, I got her to stick her hand in. It came out immediately and she ran to get a towel to dry her hands on. She hadn’t even touched any of the objects yet. After 3 times doing the same thing, I was starting to think this was going to be a failure.

She finally started playing with some of the pieces. But she did have the towel right next to her.

We also started a conversation about big and small. I helped her organize a few of the shells to facilitate our conversation.

This was a relatively short activity, but it was fun. We’ll get more pieces to add and do it again in the future.

I was inspired by my small potatoes , again. I did mine a bit differently because I didn’t have the items used in the original one.
